FOX LAKE RESORT COMMUNITY
Fox Lake was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. We are one of 13 districts listed in Steuben County and the only black resort in the state of Indiana.
It is among more than 100 lakes in Steuben County Indiana. We enjoy the lake community and invite family and friends from near and far to share their favorite memories, create new experiences, enjoy great food and have loads of fun. We have been here since the 1920's and we are still here.
Fox Lakers share their memories of coming to the lake each summer
For receiving the Indiana Landmarks’ Servaas Memorial Award recognizing outstanding achievement in historic preservation.
The award was presented to Kathryn Hawkins, president of the Fox Lake Preservation Foundation. The foundation members include Carol Karst-Wasson, Teresa Van Stratt, Robin Newburn and Edgar Smith.
The Ceremony was well attended by some of our Fox Lake members and others. The celebration continued at a local dinner club where we were entertained by one of our own Fox Lake members, Teresa Reynolds and her band “The Slicktones”.
